CADECT — Who we are

CADECT (Community Action for Development, Entrepreneurship, Economic and Environmental Conservation) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in the United Republic of Tanzania (Reg. 000015244), based in Arusha. We support community-led development through entrepreneurship training, community wellbeing, and environmental conservation.

Organizational overview

CADECT strengthens livelihoods and reduces poverty through sustainable development that protects physical and human environments— delivered through training, mobilization, and community ownership.

Identity

CADECT is a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental, non-religious and voluntary organization registered in Tanzania (NGO Reg. 000015244) under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002. We work with community groups to deliver training, mobilization and practical support linked to environment-friendly entrepreneurship.

Where we work

Our starting region is Arusha. We scale across Manyara and Kilimanjaro, and aim to extend across Tanzania mainland through partnerships, volunteers and stakeholder collaboration.

To attain social economic development with improved living standards of the community—reducing unemployment and poverty among target groups in sustainable physical and human environments.

Mission

Development through skills, enterprise & natural resources

To contribute to social economic development and improved living standards through promotion of gender sensitivity, income-generation activities and sustainable utilization of natural resources.

To create and sustain a local entrepreneurial base by supporting private micro and small enterprises—prioritizing productive sectors that contribute to environment-friendly wealth creation.
