About CADECT

CADECT is a registered NGO in Tanzania (Reg. 000015244), based in Arusha, delivering community-led training, livelihoods support, and environmental conservation.

Who we are

CADECT (Community Action for Development, Entrepreneurship, Economic and Environmental Conservation) works with women, youth, elders, people with disabilities and the wider community—starting in Arusha Region and scaling across Tanzania mainland—through entrepreneurship training, conservation, and community wellbeing.

Collaboration notes

Training on making improved stoves, how to harvest rainwater, organic farming, tree planting, and entrepreneurship skills such as honey processing and making tomato and chili sauce.

Training on constructing toilets (short-term/improved “Ablution” toilets) in Mti Mmoja village, together with tree planting.

Tree planting in Ngongongare village, and construction/training on improved stoves.

HIV/AIDS education; construction/training on improved stoves; use of traditional/organic remedies in agriculture; soil and water conservation education (water runoff control) in Mnenia village; and establishing tree and fruit nurseries.

Supplied the office with computers.

Training on environmental conservation and agriculture in Majengo village and Magomeni (Mto wa Mbu); professional poultry keeping; organic farming; how to build rainwater-harvesting tanks; and tree planting at Lake Miwaleni.

Tree nurseries, tree planting, ecological sanitation, improved stoves, and rainwater harvesting support.

Community learning and awareness initiatives, including HIV/AIDS education where applicable, designed for resilience and safer livelihoods.

Community education to reduce child abuse risks, prevent early marriage and FGM, and support school retention through outreach.
